CorrOcean Inc., the US subsidiary of Trondheim, Norway headquartered CorrOcean ASA (Oslo Børs: COR), has announced that it has been awarded a new contract worth approximately 15 million NOK for the provision of its high-accuracy digital subsea SenCorr sand/erosion/pressure/temperature (SEPT) and high-accuracy pressure- temperature (PT) sensor systems.
For long tie-backs and process systems, sand monitors are crucial tools in minimizing the risk of flowlines or vessels filled with sand. The SenCorr SEPT system represents state- of-the-art measurement technology, due to the integration of sand erosion and PT monitoring in one sensor unit, which enables the operator to have complete redundancy with less penetrations in the subsea production tree and less interfaces with the subsea control system.
The high-accuracy PT readings from the sensors enable the operator to take advantage of expert flow assurance/allocation systems such as IDUN and WMS.
This award follows others earlier this year for CorrOcean's SenCorr sensors to be deployed on many other deepwater projects, of West Africa, Atlantic Canada, on the UK and Norwegian continental shelves and in the Gulf of Mexico. CorrOcean is committed to market leadership and innovation in subsea monitoring technology, targeted at combining multiple measurements into fewer sensor units. Operators have been able to save tens of thousands of dollars per subsea tree by utilizing CorrOcean's SenCorr combination sensors.
