Company changes name and HQ

Keywords Integriti Solutions, Intercorr International

Integriti Solutions Ltd, supplier of corrosion management software and equipment, has changed its name to Intercorr International Ltd, the name of the Houston-based specialist corrosion testing, research and consulting services firm it purchased late last year.

"We appreciate that this is an unusual move, but there are good reasons for the change", explained Kenneth MacKenzie, chairman. "Whilst the UK market will continue to be important to us and we will maintain services to clients throughout the world, the American market offers the greatest potential and in that market the Intercorr name is very well known.

"In North America alone, corrosion costs are estimated at 4.5 percent of the gross national product or about $350 billion annually. We are now well positioned to make a big impact on that market and we foresee strong growth prospects."

The new company, backed in the UK by 3i, has a combined turnover in excess of $5 million and employs 50 people on both sides of the Atlantic. "Whilst our R & D centre will continue to be in Dingwall, Scotland, the old Integriti head office in Aberdeen has been closed and the majority of the company's operations are now in Houston", said Kenneth.

Intercorr recently released SmartCET, an easier to use on-line corrosion-monitoring unit that reportedly has significantly reduced the cost of this service. "This product has been well received, especially in the US, and it is one of several initiatives that we expect to impact significantly on our turnover this year", Kenneth added.
