It is reported that Northern lights of a different kind will better withstand the elements thanks to Joseph Ash Galvanizing who are to galvanize 330 pylons destined for Scotland and Scandinavia (Plate 1). More than 6,000 tonnes of steel transmission tower pylon components will be galvanized for Painter Brothers Limited who are one of the UK's leading transmission tower fabricators.

The total fabrication and galvanizing 12-month contract is worth in excess of £4 million. Mr David Goldsmith, general manager Painter Brothers, said: "Joseph Ash can take pride in their customer service delivery and high levels of technical competency. These qualities led to their appointment."
