Plant makers join steel producers

Keywords UK Steel Association, BMPCA

The British Metallurgical Plant Constructors' Association (BMPCA) has joined the UK Steel Association as an associate member.

BMPCA is the third industry body to join UK Steel as an associate member. Both associations sought this move as a practical strategy that will benefit their members commercially while strengthening their representation in Whitehall, Westminster and Brussels. The new relationship is structured to foster both associations' interdependence and their independence.

BMPCA's 27 member companies design, supply, manufacture and install plant, machinery, process control equipment and services for the world's metal producers. Closer co-operation between BMPCA and the UK Steel Association will therefore provide a platform for practical exchanges between steel producers and processors and their main equipment suppliers.

The British Welded Steel Tube Association and the Stainless Steel Wire Association are also UK Steel associate members. As such they receive a relevant selection of services from UK Steel's full portfolio, including back-up and administration.
