The latest 20 page colour catalogue produced by EDL covers its range of cable support and management systems (Plate 1). These products are now being specified for several major international projects, including offshore floating production platforms, electrical power generation and distribution equipment, together with railways, tunnelling and mining, bridge construction, underground transport systems and a wide diversity of heavy engineering applications.

Included with the catalogue for the first time is information on the new universal mounting version of their Van-cleat range. Profiled bases permit mounting on both open and closed rungs of ladder racks, together with cable trays, 41mm wide channels and any appropriate flat surface. Variable fixing options, together with clip-in cable retention straps supplied as standard are just some of the features now provided.
Other products include recently introduced heavy duty versions of the van-cleats with higher short circuit withstand ratings, and stainless steel trefoil cable straps used as intermediate surge clips between vari-cleats. Surge clips and vari-cleats are also available complete with low smoke and fume (LSF) liners to provide additional protection for cables.
Other products covered in this catalogue include aluminium trefoil cleats covering cables from 22.3 to 60.3mm diameter. These are supplemented by Eurotech LSF channel cleats, manufactured from flame retardant black plastic material. These offer resistance to corrosive atmospheres, oil and chemical contamination, and are said to be suitable for use within operating temperatures of -10 to +120°C. Cable racks incorporating hardwood cleats are also shown, suitable for cables ranging from 12 to 75mm outside diameter.
Cable hangers and suspension hooks, cable tray support brackets, connecting plates and clips, etc., together with cable suspenders, catenary wire and associated accessories are also included. Copies of this catalogue are available on request.
