Pipeline Induction Heat Ltd, based in Burnley, UK, recently announced the promotion of Phil Bond to Managing Director. Phil joined PIH in 1988 (as Contracts Manager) quickly advancing to the position of Operations Director in 1994.

Following his appointment, Phil commented, "1999 has been a tough and competitive year for our industry. Nevertheless, PIH has held its own and maintained its leading position as a major force in the Pipeline construction business: providing high quality coating, induction heating and related onset services to main contractors."

PIH is a dynamic organisation, combining an experienced and energetic management team, an innovative engineering group and a world class contracting division. Indeed, the company's achievements have again been recognised at the 1999 International Onshore and Offshore Pipeline Contractors Association (IPLOCA) convention in Spain, where PIH's president Mike Smith accepted the prestigious "Field Service Contractors: 1999 IPLOCA Safety Award", for excellence in this increasingly important sector.

Phil Bond continued: "PIH looks forward to the challenges of the new Millennium. Our business is technology driven and PIH will continue to lead the way by developing novel and cost-effective solutions to overcome the evermore complex requirements which characterise International Oil & Gas Pipeline Construction today."
