Contract for regeneration project

Keywords: Joseph Ash, Galvanizing

Joseph Ash Galvanizing, Birmingham, has won a contract to supply 1,000 tonnes of galvanized steel to Birmingham's Star City regeneration project.

The contract, worth in excess of £100,000, is to supply galvanized steel for the sub-frames of the multi-storey parking on the site.

Joseph Ash sales manager Ian Hiley said. "We have developed a reputation for customer service, high levels of technical competency and competitive pricing. We also have four galvanizing baths of various sizes enabling us to provide a really first-class service tailored to every type of client.

The Birmingham works employs 120 people. It features what is thought to be the longest galvanizing bath in Europe which, at 18m, has reportedly made Joseph Ash and Sons the largest producer of galvanized steel in the Midlands. The galvanizing process coats the steel, protecting it from rust, and it is believed, in many cases making it maintenance free for in excess of 20 years.

"The Star City contract marks a successful period for us. The first half of the year has been positive, with the trend remaining upwards", added Mr Hiley.
