Metallurgically bonded precious metal clad wire and rod for electrical and electronic applications that is ductile, conductive, and corrosion-resistant are available from Anomet Products, Inc. of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, USA (Plate 1).
Anomet precious metal clad wire features 10 - 24k gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and other alloys over copper-, nickel-based, and other core alloys. Providing the ductility required for bending, forming, and stamping, these metallurgically bonded materials incorporate two or more metals with a precious metal layer of 1 micron or better and are highly corrosion-resistant.
Plate 1 Anomet precious metal clad wire and rod
Fabricated by hot and cold drawing two or more wrought metals into a composite rod or wire, Anomet precious metal clad wire exhibits low contact resistance, which varies according to materials. Available in sizes from 0.125mm to 3mm dia., it can be supplied in quantities ranging from 10 Troy ounces to several hundred kilograms.
Anomet precious metal clad wire is priced according to composition, size, and quantity; supplied on spools, coils, or cut to length. Literature and samples are available on request.
