Dampney Protexior® chemical-resistant coating provides corrosion and heat resistance
Article Type: New materials and equipment From: Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, Volume 62, Issue 3
Dampney Company, Inc. has introduced a high performance coating for insulated and un-insulated steel and concrete surfaces that resists wet–dry thermal cycling, boiling water and steam.
The Protexior® Chemical Resistant Epoxy Top Coat & Primer Kit combines a corrosion- and heat-resistant coating up to 450°F into one high performance specification that meets both ISO 20340 and ASTM B-117. Featuring Novolac epoxy protection integrated with silicone resin technology, this low VOC coating protects insulated and un-insulated steel and concrete surfaces.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor CUI applications, the Protexior® Chemical Resistant Epoxy Top Coat & Primer Kit conforms to ASTM G 85-02-modified salt spray, ASTM D-543 boiling water resistance, the ASTM D-3359 adhesion tape test and ISO 20340 Annex A Ageing resistance. Applied by roller or spray, typical uses include piping, vessels, valves, ducts and plenums. The Protexior® Chemical Resistant Epoxy Top Coat & Primer Kit is available in 1- and 5-gallon kits.
Dampney Company, Inc. was founded in 1917 and has designed, developed, manufactured and distributed a wide range of engineered coating systems for specialized applications since that time. A leader supplying high-performance, high-temperature protective coating solutions throughout the world, the company serves the refining, petrochemical, chemical processing, oil and gas, pipeline, power, OEM, pulp and paper, materials processing, construction and water- and waste-processing industries. Their primary product lines include Thurmalox a high-temperature industrial and OEM protective coating; Epodur for secondary containment; Apexior for water-side protection in steam-generating equipment; Dymacryl water-repellent masonry stains; Elastoid, a high-build elastomeric rubber coating; Endcor, a corrosion-resistant coating; and Epodur, a high solids epoxy coating.
