which appeared in Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, Vol. 16 No. 1, 2003

Sue Llewelyn graduated from the University of Manchester with a first-class honours degree in Econometrics and Political Theory. She was appointed to a Lectureship in the department of Accounting and Business Method at the University of Edinburgh in 1991 and was subsequently promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1995 and Professor in 1999. She is now located in the University of Leicester. She has held visiting appointments at the following universities: Adelaide and Macquarie (Australia); Queens (Canada); LinkÎping (Sweden); Ferrara (Italy) and Otago (New Zealand). She is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Auckland University of Technology. Her research interests are in the areas of management control, accountability and management accounting in public services.
