SICK expands sensor portfolio

Article Type: New products From: Assembly Automation, Volume 31, Issue 2

SICK UK, a leading international sensor and sensing systems manufacturer, has launched innovative new RFID, flow and barcode sensors, highlighting the company’s continued investment in R&D and its dedication to expanding its wide range of sensing systems.

SICK is expanding its industrial instrumentation offering into the flow sensor market for the first time, with the launch of the FFU in-line flow measurement sensor. The FFU uses modern ultrasonic flow measurement principles to deliver high-accuracy flow and volume measurement for conductive or non-conductive fluids.

SICK has also revealed its latest level sensor, with the introduction of the UP56, an ultrasonic non-contact level sensor, designed for use in pressurised and non-pressurised vessels. With an operating range of up to 5 m, it is ideally suited for sensing aggressive fluids, heavy contamination and abrasive bulk material.

In addition, SICK has launched its new CLV6 series of barcode scanners, designed to deliver product security, making sure that the code packaging matches its contents. The CLV6 series delivers high read rates at fast speeds. The configurable host string means network traffic is reduced to a minimum allowing multiple scanners to be installed on an ethernet IP network into a PLC.
