Master Bond UV15-7TK1A is one new component, with high viscosity, optically clear, tough UV curable system developed by Master Bond, Inc., Hackensack, NJ (Plate 6). UV15- 7TK1A is designed for bonding, sealing and coating applications. When exposed to a UV light of appropriate wave length and adequate intensity UV15-7TK1A cures rapidly. Typical cure times range from as little as 5-10s to 1-2min at ambient temperatures. Commercially marketed 200W/in. medium pressure mercury vapour or equivalent UV light sources are recommended. Maximum UV absorption takes place in the 280-360nm range.

Master Bond UV15-7TK1A is tough durable, non-yellowing and chemically resistant. It has excellent electrical insulation properties and low shrinkage upon cure. It bonds well to both similar and dissimilar substrates. UV15-7TK1A will cure in section thicknesses greater than 1/4in. It has an extended service capability of -80°F to +300°F and is thermal shock resistant.

UV15-7TK1A is fully reactive and does not contain any solvents or other volatiles. It has a viscosity of a smooth paste. It is available for use in pint, quart, gallon containers and in syringe applicators. Its shelf life is 6 months at 75°F in unopened containers.
