Comau S.p.A., a leading global supplier of industrial automation systems for the automotive industry, continues the expansion of its worldwide implementation of Tecnomatix eMPower™-based solutions for Manufacturing Process Management (MPM) with purchases of software and services totaling around £750K.
Comau has been using Tecnomatix software since 1989, during which it has invested progressively in eMPower solutions to reduce manufacturing set-up costs. The software is used to improve the planning process and line designs. Another important benefit is the streamlining of relationships with the group's OEM customers by enabling the quick, easy exchange of manufacturing information.
The new orders entail the roll-out of additional Tecnomatix eM-Workplace, eM-Engineer and off-line programming (OLP) solutions to complement existing eMPower facilities.
Commenting on the high returns on the group's investment over 10 years, Antonio Pastore, IT Manager at Comau said: “As we've noted in the past, eMPower solutions are a valued component of our operations, helping us to reduce our customers' overall operating costs, while significantly cutting processing times”.
