World's second largest automotive manufacturer aims to reduce costs and improve quality with new order for e-Manufacturing software

Tecnomatix Technologies has received an order from the Ford Motor Company for the Tecnomatix eMPower Assembly suite of e-manufacturing software. Ford has been a Tecnomatix customer for more than ten years, and is expanding its use of eMPower in order to reduce costs and improve the quality of its product and process design. eMPower Assembly will form part of Ford's global virtual manufacturing initiative.

Ford will implement the Tecnomatix eMS (e-Manufacturing Server) to store and manage manufacturing process simulation information. Providing an integrated, collaborative environment with web access to product and process data, the eMS supports multiple users, ensures that everyone is working on the latest version of a document or data, eliminates duplication of data and work, and enables the standardisation on best practices throughout an enterprise.
