Strategic partnership takes Modular Automation into new markets

Modular Automation of Birmingham wishes to announce that it has entered into a new strategic partnership with Scott Technology Ltd of New Zealand.

Modular Automation is well-known in the UK as a key manufacturer of automatic assembly equipment. Scott Technology is New Zealand's leading supplier of fabrication systems for sheet metal forming primarily in the domestic appliance industry. Scott exports 100 per cent of its output to a global market, 70 per cent of which goes into the USA (see Plate 1).

The new partnership will allow both companies to expand their range of products through technical cooperation in the design and commissioning of new automatic manufacturing systems.

According to William Bourn, Modular Automation's sales manager, the alliance has the potential to open up new markets for the company. "Scott Technology is very strong in the domestic appliance market, a sector that we have yet to address", he explained. "Working with Scott will allow us to develop this sector much quicker than would have been possible by ourselves."

Gordon Todd, sales and marketing manager for Scott, added: "The alliance with Modular Automation will allow Scott to provide complete manufacturing solutions to appliance manufacturers around the world."
