Improved and updated to include the recently launched product ranges, Montech's CD-ROM catalogue Automation 2000 is packed with technical data, CAD files and prices (see Plate 11). It is available free of charge to designers, engineers and specifiers who use automation components, aluminium framework systems, conveyors, palletised transfer systems and machine guarding.

New products on the CD include the Servotech horizontal servo positioning units, compact slides and long-stroke grippers with optional encoders. For the new and existing product ranges, the CD has descriptions, technical data, application examples and CAD files. Where appropriate, there are also configuration and calculation modules to help the user to select the correct'components.
As products are selected, they can be added to an enquiry/order list with the prices displayed in sterling or Euros. Montech's pricing structure is clear and fair, so quantity discounts are applied automatically.
For users who are not familiar with the Montech range there is a guided tour that highlights the main features and benefits for each of the product ranges. There are also animations to show how an automation unit can be assembled and a slide show that clearly demonstrates how a Quick-Set aluminium framework can be built - complete with a clock to show the elapsed time!
Automation 2000 has been designed with the user in mind, so it is intuitive to navigate around, packed with relevant technical data, and there is a choice as to how much is downloaded from the CD to the hard disk.
