Automation company moves and expands

Robotic systems integrator and automation equipment manufacturer, Bauromat (UK), has relocated from Droitwich to larger premises on the Keytec 7 Business Park in Pershore, where it has extra factory space and a larger administrative area. It hopes to add showroom facilities within the next 12 months.

Timed to coincide with the move, Paul Tilley has joined as a director to work alongside Gordon Biggs, who founded the company in March 1997. Paul is well-known in the robot, welding and automation fields, in which he has worked for more than 15 years.

Bauromat concluded its first full year of trading on a high note, taking orders to the value of £160,000 in a four-week period. One involves the supply of a three-axis machine for automatically pressing threaded brass inserts into moulded plastic cellular telephone bodies. Unlike competitive equipment on the market, the machine can be reprogrammed quickly and inexpensively to suit a new design of telephone.

Other orders include an automated machine for loading, drilling and unloading high value, difficult-to-machine, stainless steel forgings for the aerospace industry; and a robotic plasma cutting cell to enable a medical product manufacturer to profile tubular, coated stainless steel, with special equipment to extract the toxic fumes generated.

Another recent development, announced at the end of last year, was Bauromat's appointment as UK agent for the Tricept 805 machining centre built by Neos, Sweden, to compete with hexapods-type machines. Sub-distributors are being appointed and others are sought in various regions.
