Dymax has introduced a kit comprising a selection of adhesives representative of its new range of ultra-fast light curing products. The kit comprises five 5ml adhesive syringes and an economical hand held UV spotlight. The adhesives cure in seconds upon exposure to the light, forming tough, durable bonds in the same time typically needed with more costly, higher intensity, UV curing lamps. They are ideal for bonding glass, plastic, metal and many porous surfaces (see Plate 8).

The selected adhesives are matched to the spot-lamp to achieve the fastest possible cures. They are ideal for optical assembly, wire tacking and bonding of small components of various materials to each other, and are also available as thixotropic gels with high green strength to stay exactly where they are dispensed.
The HHL 400 spot lamp can be preset to cure in 3, 5, or 10 seconds, selected with a thumb switch. A 45o angled, 8mm light guide allows for 360o rotation of the light. Typical visible light intensity is 400 milliwatts/cm2 with lower intensity long wave UV light. The handgrip of the light is ergonomically designed and balanced for ease of operation. One bulb has a working life in excess of 10,000 bonds.
