A family of highly accurate, linear motion stages, specially designed for applications requiring both vertical and horizontal motions has been added to the "Micro Slides" range by the Bayside Motion Group (see Plate 1).
Called the "Z-Wedge Series", the new dual-direction stages are ideal for precision applications such as semiconductor assembly and testing, electronics assembly and component placement, materials handling, and automated assembly equipment. The stages accept loads up to 45kg with 25mm maximum travel.
The Z Wedge Series' unique construction allows unobstructed platform access from all sides of the stage (including the top) allowing easy mounting in conveyor and gantry platforms.
Other design features include aluminium alloy construction for light weight and high strength, crossed roller bearings for up to ten times greater load capacity than ball designs plus enhanced stiffness, one micron linear accuracy, minimal friction for smooth rolling action, and an option for home switch and travel limits.
Like all Micro Slides' products, the Z Wedge Series comes ready-to-mount to any servo or stepper motor.
