Modular welds three new alliances

Modular Welding has announced news of "strategic partnerships" with three leading robotic and welding suppliers as part of a planned growth programme.

Birmingham-based Modular Welding, part of the successful Modular Industries automation group, has entered into an agreement with Panasonic Robotics, RofinSinar Lasers and Thermadyne Industries Ltd (TWECO) to expand its ability to provide "turnkey" solutions involving dedicated or robotic assembly, pick and place and welding applications.

Brian Farman, general manager of Modular Welding, commented: "Our partners are recognised as leading authorities in automated welding and we are looking forward to being involved in their projected development plans for the UK".

Modular Welding was established to meet a growing industry need for total automation solutions incorporating advanced welding processes such as laser, micro TIG, micro plasma and synergic MIG. The company also makes extensive use of the Stäubli, Adept, Sony and Panasonic range of robots.

Inheriting a proven track record in handling major engineering contracts via its sister company, Modular Automation, the division benefits from established project control systems and full in-house computer-aided design facilities.

Modular Industries is one of the most successful assembly automation companies in the UK, operating four divisions specialising in automation, conveyors and flexible handling, welding systems and precision engineering.
