The "Luge", a new high-performance linear motor slide with easy linear motor mounting has been introduced by Micro Slides, specialists in precision linear motion technology.

The Luge offers easy linear motor installation in a pre-engineered packaged. Its flexible "plug and play" design allows easy mounting to the following linear motors: Anorad, Etel, FANUC, Indramat, Kollmorgen, Normag, Siemens and Trilogy.

Design features of the Luge include a unique flexure design (AutoFlex technology) that automatically adjusts bearing pre-load for optimum system performance during thermal expansion and high accelerations.

High dynamic performance results from a lightweight, high-strength, custom-machined aluminium alloy construction, plus rugged bearing design which, together, give the Luge durability with maximum acceleration in a compact package. This dynamic performance is matched by the slide's accuracy, 0.1 micron, ensured by an integral linear encoder. In addition, the Luge has an integral cable track to help maximise cable life.

Luge linear slides are available for ironless and iron core linear motors and are ideal for applications requiring high accuracy, low noise, high speeds and extremely low friction.
