Philips Industrial Automation Systems taken over by Advent

Since 23 January 1998, Philips Industrial Automation Systems has operated under the name Nyquist Industrial Control. This was the date on which the sale of ten Philips subsidiaries to Advent International was signed, sealed and delivered. IAS was part of that package deal. "This new independence points to a bright future for us," says Jon Shuttleworth, Nyquist's managing director. "The new owners see us as their core business and are prepared to invest. Add this to our company's excellent results and Nyquist is off to a flying start."

Nyquist Industrial Control (formerly Philips IAS) has built up an international reputation since its establishment in 1970. During this time, Nyquist has developed particular expertise in a diverse range of PLC applications and high quality machine control systems. The company's major speciality is finding solutions to complex motion problems. Besides the products it manufactures, Nyquist Industrial Control has concentrated to great effect over the years on the human face of engineering. The purely technical product profile has, if anything, been surpassed by qualities such as worthwhile advice, reliable tailor-made solutions, virtually unlimited service, and individual commitment to customer outcomes.

Nyquist Industrial Control can be regarded as one of the most specialised partners in the application of computer technology to complete state-of-the-art control systems. Nyquist customers are to be found mainly in the textiles, paper and rubber industries, in robotics, packaging applications and semiconductor manufacturing. Nyquist develops controls for machinery in all these markets.
