About the Contributors

Anete Abramowicz, PhD, Senior Professor at University of São Paulo – USP/Brazil. He is a graduate at Ciências Sociais from Universidade de São Paulo (1979), PhD at Education from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1996), Senior Professor at University of São Paulo – USP. (from 2018 up to now), Senior Professor at Center of Education and Humanities at São Carlos Federal University – UFSCar (from 2012 up to 2018). He got a scholarship for productivity National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, level 1C (since 2010). His published works are books: 26; articles in indexed journals: 36; book chapters: 59; guided dissertations: 18, guided thesis: 18.

Imola Antal, PhD, is a Psychologist, an Associate Professor in the Social Work Program in Babes-Bolyai University, Romania. Her teaching focuses on child protection, trauma, family therapy and mental health issues. Her main research interest is in child abuse and neglect, child protection systems, and gender-based violence. She successfully contributed to publications in the area of trauma therapy.

Raneesh Chakalakkal is a PhD Scholar, Department of Social Work, Central University of Kerala, India. In the last two years, the scholar has been working on the subject of “reintegration of institutionalized children.” Along with researcher is also interested in the field of rights of children in public care. He presented several articles in national and international seminars on Child Rights-related topics.

Valdete Côco is a Professor at the Federal University of Espírito Santo; Coordinator of GT07: Education of children from 0 to 6 years old, from the National Association of Postgraduate and Research in Education (2016/2019) and coordinator of the Research Group “Education and Training of Educators.” Tutor of the Education Tutorial Program Connections of Knowledge: Education Project.

Ágnes Dávid-Kacsó, PhD, is a Psychologist, a Therapist and has a Doctoral degree in Sociology. Currently, she works as a lecturer at the Department of Social Work in Babes-Bolyai University, Romania, and teaches topics related to vulnerable young persons in residential or foster care or marginalized children, with minority background.

Marle Aparecida Fidéles de Oliveira Vieira is a Doctoral Student in Education at the Graduate Program in Education, Federal University of Espírito Santo; member of the Research and Training Group of Educators; teacher of the Municipal Education in Vitória city, Espírito Santo.

Ingrid Engdahl is an Associate Professor in Child and Youth Sciences, Stockholm University, Sweden. Vice President for OMEP in Europe, Organisation Mondiale pour l’Éducation Préscolaire. Prof Engdahl’s is a preschool teacher and psychologist, with a PhD in Child and Youth Sciences. Her main research interests are the holistic development of early childhood education, focusing on toddlers and play, the perspective of the child, education for sustainability and the rights of the child.

Rocío Fatyass, PhD student in Social Sciences-CONICET (National Council for Scientific and Technical Research), has a degree in Sociology from the National University of Villa María (UNVM), Argentina and a scholar of the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET). His line of research refers to the experiences of childhoods in contexts of poverty.

Aldrie Henry-Lee, PhD, is a Professor of Social Policy, University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Kingston, Jamaica.

Yhanore Johnson-Coke, MSc, is a Research Assistant in Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES).

Éva László, PhD, Psychologist, is a Lecturer in the Social Work Programme at Babes-Bolyai University, Romania. She has been working on several projects, including child abuse and neglect, child protection, violence against women, trafficking, domestic violence, and online risks for children. She has a vast experience in prevention, intervention, lobbying and advocacy for women’s and children’s rights.

Letícia Mendonça Lopes Ribeiro is a Teacher at the Federal University of Acre (Universidade Federal do Acre), in the city of Rio Branco, State of Acre, Brazil. She currently teaches and researches topics related to teacher training and teaching work, in basic and higher education. Her most important publications are related to the professional practice of teachers. She has worked in child education classes for six years, in public schools in the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Mariela Losso is a Professor Adjunct, Department of Education Policy, Faculty of Educational Sciences National University of Comahue, Argentina. She is a Doctoral Student about to finish her doctoral thesis, with the preliminary title “Configurations of the Civil Society and State Relationship to the demand for Early Childhood Education and Care” in contexts of social inequality in the province of Río Negro.

Charlotte McPherson is an ESRC-funded Doctoral Researcher at the University of Stirling in Scotland. Her doctoral qualitative research explores the lives and perspectives of working-class young people in urban and rural communities in Scotland through the lens of social justice. More broadly, her research interests lie in youth, place, social justice, social class, intergenerational relations and the future.

Dr Mohan A. K., is an Associate Professor and Head, Department of Social Work, Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod and the affiliated Institute is Department of Social Work, Central University of Kerala.

Noel Rosana Rafer, PhD, is currently a Professor at the Sociology Department, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, Bicol University, Daraga Campus, Daraga, Albay, Philippines, and a member of the International Sociological Association. This is his first publication on children and youth, but he has also published or presented articles locally and internationally on armed conflict, extra-judicial killings, higher education, and religion in the Philippines.

Tatiane Cosentino Rodrigues, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pedagogical Theories and Practices at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), São Paulo, Brazil. Coordinates the UFSCar Center for Afro-Brazilian Studies. She is the leader and coordinator of the Research Group Ethnic-Racial Relations and Education at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development of Brazil (CNPq). Has experience in coordinating different research projects on Ethnic-Racial Relationships, Didactics, Teacher Education and Higher Education.

Maria Roth, PhD, is a Professor in the Social Work Program in Babes-Bolyai University, Romania, and the director of the European Master in Children’s Rights. Before entering the academic field, she has worked with children in schools, hospitals, and orphanages. Along with her academic career, she did research and published in the area of child well-being and adverse childhood experiences in Romania.

Gabriela Guarnieri de C. Tebet, is a PhD Professor at Department of Social Sciences in Education and of Post-Graduation Program on Education of Faculty of Education, State University of Campinas – UNICAMP/Brazil. While she was teacher in early childhood education and care, working directly with babies and young children, in 2007 she won the prize “Educar para a igualdade racial” (To educate for racial equality) promoted by CEERT. In her docotoral studies Tebet studies Childhood Sociology and Babies. Her recent researches interests focus on babies, differences, early childhood education polices and practices and cartographies of babies. Since 2018 she coordinates a research project named “Babies, individuation, subjectivation and singularization process experienced by them in different spaces” founded by FAPESP.
