Belarus-Ukraine economic ties.
Belarus’s leadership has trodden a careful path with its large neighbour, especially since conflict in Ukraine began in 2014. Despite its vulnerability and reliance on Moscow, Minsk has resisted Russian attempts to enlist its support as far as it can and remains on good terms with Kyiv. Belarus is now planning a river port to connect with Ukrainian and later Polish waterways and facilitate access to European and Black Sea markets.
