Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this column is to help equip information professionals to make decisions around artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of accessibility.

Design/methodology/approach

This column explores some of the ways AI may emerge to be a powerful tool for access through the lens of libraries.

Findings

The list of possible futures is endless and hard to predict. Yet in each case, libraries and patrons benefit by staying focused on their core values, while engaging with the technology that provides access to information about the world.

Originality/value

Insights that can inform professionals.
