EFMC special issue

The 16th EuroFM Research Symposium took place as part of the European Facilities Management Conference (EFMC) in Madrid, 25-28 April 2017.

EuroFM exists to create a platform for opportunities for the facilities management community. The flagship event for EuroFM is the EFMC and the Research Symposium.

The general conference theme for EFMC 2017 was “Consolidating the Global Scope of Facility Management”, and this was also the theme of the 16th EuroFM Research Symposium, which was organised as part of the conference.

The objective of the Research Symposium is to present original research that contributes to the understanding of the role of FM in organisations and to encourage discussions and the development of new knowledge among researchers, professionals and educationalists.

All together, 32 abstracts were received for the original Research Symposium, and after the review process 19 papers were accepted and included. Authors of these papers were invited to develop in-depth outputs, based on their original conference submission for submission to this special issue. Following a rigorous review process, a total of seven papers were finally developed and accepted. I would like to commend all the authors that have worked hard to get their papers to an excellent standard for this special issue.

As Research Chair for EuroFM and Guest Editor for this special issue, I do hope you find these papers enjoyable and welcome you to submit your research to EFMC in the future.
