How value chains are starting to dissolve
Abstract
Covers Boston Consulting Group and how it deals with changes in the information economics areas, linking the activities undertaken to design, produce, market, deliver and support their products. Employs a Figure to highlight Internet breaks and reach and richness. Demonstrates how modern information technology has overtaken traditional ways. Believes old definitions of businesses and their boundaries no longer hold good — which in turn means new perspectives are needed on customers, suppliers and competitors.
