Transformation: the critical routes to success (or failure)
Abstract
Determines that nowadays organizations can no longer afford to adapt gradually ‐ evolving as the environment alters. Contrasts the mechanistic process of ‘managing’ with all its overtones of risk reduction and keeping the show on the road. Lists out eight steps for leading change drawn from 100 companies, large and small, profitable and unprofitable. Summarizes transformation programmes are always messy and always full of surprises ‐ but learning these lessons will eliminate many of the causes of failure.
