Integrated Library Systems: A Primer on Z39.50
Abstract
Explores the topic of the NISO Z39.50 protocol for remote search and retrieval of information, an area on which, up until now, it was difficult to find up‐to‐date information. Looks at what Z39.50 is, how it originated and what exactly it does. Explains the seven layers of the open systems interconnection model within which Z39.50 is defined.
