Training Team Leaders

Abstract

Describes an innovative TQM training scheme. Discusses a programme to select, train and develop team leaders. Asserts these team leaders are seen as the key people who will manage and implement TQM principles to produce a world class manufacturing organisation. Contends the outcome has produced benefits for the company and Harrow College of Higher Education, and has contributed to producing the cultural changes in the workplace that are seen as crucial to success. Asserts that the learning process is geared to an experiential process. Concludes that the company has been able to apply TQM in the workplace better by having well‐trained people leading the teams that manage the manufacturing process.
