Abstract

Discusses the counselling service in the communications organisation News International. Considers the role of counselling in the organisation, the use of counselling skills within the company, and the limitations of a manager′s counselling role. Concludes that counselling offers the opportunity to focus on the individual′s welfare, rather than the company′s, and this is to the ultimate benefit of the company.
