Abstract
I. An ambitious Canadian plan to preserve and enhance the environment with emphasis on health and a better life; II. The controversy in the USA concerning the measurement and risks due to exposure to radioactive radon; III. The problem of providing potable water in the face of increasing water shortages throughout the world, one of the options being nuclear desalination.
