Consumer Participation in Setting International Food Standards

Abstract
The views of the International Organisation of Consumers Unions (IOCU) with regard to food standards in international trade are reported. The implementation of the reform of Codex, ensuring improvements in food standards necessary to gain consumer confidence, is advocated.
