AB  - The new Grant Maintained status for a secondary school was preceded
by participation in an experimental LEA Local Management Scheme. This
was the springboard to success in applying for the new status, according
to the headmaster. He emphasises experience in handling a disaggregated
budget, full cover for absent staff and his new role relative to
delegated responsibilities.
