AB  - As the role of the public sector manager adapts to the demands of
increased organisational responsiveness and accountability, there is a
need for appropriate development programmes. The preliminary phase of a
research project is reviewed which focuses on the developmental needs of
a particular group of managers – namely, auditors and management
analysts – whose responsibilities are likely to impinge
increasingly upon the area of programme and organisational evaluation.
