International Symposium on Unmanned Systems: AI, Design and Efficiency (ISUDEF’23), International Symposium on Sustainable Aviation (ISSA’23), International Symposium on Electric Aviation and Autonomous Systems (ISEAS’23) and International Symposium on Aircraft Technology, MRO & Operations (ISATECH’23) were held in an Online/Hybrid Mode on June 7–9, July 26–28, July 5–7 and August 24–26, respectively. Symposiums, international and multidisciplinary, aimed to address current issues in the field of aviation, such as energy-efficient unmanned systems, micro and mini unmanned systems, AI design and efficiency, swarm technology, anti-drone systems, green aviation, more electric aircraft, all-electric aircraft, energy/exergy, aerospace vehicle strategic planning, governmental legislation, policy-making, environmental/cost efficiency, energy savings algorithms, hydrogen, fleet planning, forecast in MRO, maintenance planning and scheduling, but not limited to.
Following an extensive review process, a curated selection of papers was assembled for inclusion in this special issue, drawing from contributions presented at prominent conferences alongside additional submissions from distinguished authors within the field. Comprising a total of 13 papers, the chosen works represent a diverse array of topics at the forefront of contemporary discourse. The titles of these papers are as stated below:
