About the Authors

Therese Ferguson holds a PhD in Environmental Management from The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. She joined the School of Education at The University of the West Indies (Mona Campus) in October 2015 as a Lecturer in Education for Sustainable Development. She is the Coordinator of the ESD Working Group within the School of Education, and the Programme Leader for Change from Within, a school-based initiative in Jamaica which addresses violence and indiscipline. Her teaching and research interests lie in Education for Sustainable Development, Environmental Education, and Children and the Environment. She has published in journals such as Environmental Education Research, Journal of Geography in Higher Education, Geography Compass, Caribbean Journal of Education and the Journal of Education and Development in the Caribbean. Additionally, she has several book chapters, book reviews and an encyclopaedia entry to her credit.

Dzintra Iliško is Professor at Daugavpils University, Faculty of Education and Management as well as the Head of the Center of Sustainable Education of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her research interests are sustainable education, gender issues and religious education. She is the editor of the international journals: Discourse and Communication for Sustainable Education and Journal of Teacher Education for Sustainability. She is a member of several international organisations, such as ISREV (The International Seminar on Religious Education and Values) and ESWTR (The European Society of Women in Theological Research) for more than 10 years. She is the author of more than 50 publications. She is a member of the organising committee of the BBCC/JTES international conferences.

Carmel Roofe is a Teacher Educator and Curriculum Development Specialist who holds a PhD in Curriculum Development from The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. She is a Lecturer in Curriculum and Instruction and a member of the ESD Working Group within the School of Education, UWI, Mona. She is co-editor of the book Intercultural Studies of Curriculum – Theory, Policy and Practice, which examines curriculum issues from multidisciplinary and cross cultural perspectives. She is a member of the Institute for Educational Administration and Leadership-Jamaica and a Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield.

Susan Hill is a Management Consultant and Independent Researcher based in the United Kingdom. She is an expert in responsible and sustainable business, and pedagogic approaches to responsible management education. A Centre for Responsible Management Education Practicing Fellow, and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Susan is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. While a Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University, she co-ordinated the Business School’s United Nation’s Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) programme, explicitly linking the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with education for sustainable development and graduate outcomes. Susan has published chapters in The Business Student’s Guide to Sustainable Management: Principles and Practice and the latest edition of The Inspirational Guide for the Implementation of PRME: Redefining Success (2017).
