About the Authors

Hans Mikkelsen, MS in engineering, has for many years served as a consultant in project management and as an instructor at post-experience courses on project management. He has contributed to several public funded R&D projects. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Aalborg University. He was a co-founder of the Danish Project Management Association and a board member for many years. He served as the first editor of the association’s magazine for 10 years. He is a lead assessor at the IPMA certification program for project managers, level A and B.

Jens O. Riis, MS in engineering, PhD and dr. techn., is an Emeritus Professor of industrial management systems at the Aalborg University. His research areas include project management, management of technology, and management systems design and implementation. He has carried out a number of development programs in close cooperation with Danish industrial companies. For 10 years he was the first director of an executive program on technology management that emphasizes the integration of business development, appropriate technology development and application, and organizational design and development.
