This little volume will not heavily challenge its readers, but may offer some useful advice clothed within an easy‐to‐read text with fun cartoons and easy‐to‐digest lists of what to do and what not to do. Although not aimed specifically at telecommunication firms, the “beast” here means business technology as found in any modern company. The authors, partners in a business consulting and training operation, define the beast and then some of its many attributes: being accessible, alive, mobile, responsive, empowering, communicating, and efficient. Each of these is discussed in a section of rules, while a final part talks about how best to achieve the positive attributes of having the beast work for you. Little case study stories abound. This is a light and quickly‐read guide with some useful day‐to‐day rules and suggestions.
