AB  - Examines the cultural issues considered in relation to compulsory
purchase by the courts in Ghana and comments on the interpretations
currently placed on such cases by the courts. Notes that in Ghana the
contentious issue is often not the amount of compensation due but who is
entitled to that compensation. Concludes that rights in customary land
law will tend to fade away as the nature of the use to which the land is
put becomes more permanent.
