Helping Users and Survivors to Tell Their Own Stories
Abstract
How often have you felt angry about media representations of mental health service users? How many letters have you written about the way stories in the media distort and stereotype people? Mental Health Media believes that simply complaining is ineffective. Users and survivors need to give their points of view ‐ to tell their own stories. To help people to do this, Mental Health Media is getting people who are experienced in handling the media to run courses which can help survivors to present themselves effectively.
