Abstract

“Going global” is one of the guiding business imperatives of the new century. But what does it mean? There is no magic formula for going global, or even a clear definition of what the characteristics of a truly global organization are. This article summarizes two studies by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and the World Economic Forum. The first study documents the experiences of the world’s most successful global companies; the second study examines the impact of the Internet on global strategy and operations.
