Abstract

From a simple idea came a library network that only ever wanted to connect Marylanders to their libraries and the resources they offered. What SailorSM has become is a national model for public libraries and state planning telecommunications networks and library systems integration. Policies for network development of hardware and software, as well as content, are essential. Summarizes the design and implementation of a small, but critical, part of SailorSM, that of collection development of Internet resources.
