ON BECOMING AN EX‐LIBRARIAN
Abstract
Follows the author′s story of her mid‐career change from being a librarian in a polytechnic to becoming a person‐centred counsellor and therapist, via a part‐time course at the local university. Promotes the idea that personal growth through therapy can open up opportunities in one′s career and help anyone whose vocation in life is at a crossroads. Describes the development of her own counselling business and her eventual combination of both her librarian and counselling skills in the role of resource worker helping adults to return to education alongside school‐age pupils.
