Abstract

The Nuclear Industry Road Emergency Response Plan is a mutual aid scheme involving the major companies in the nuclear industry. The arrangements were developed to provide a response in the event of an incident or accident involving the road transport of nuclear material by the participants in the scheme. The aim of the scheme is to achieve a rapid and effective response to any incident involving a radioactive package in transit by road.
