Abstract

Examines the stresses imposed on rescuers and their needs for emotional and psychological support. The vulnerability of the emergency personnel involved during a disaster has often not been recognized. Discusses the symptoms of post‐traumatic stress disorder along with diagnosis and treatment methods.
