There is little doubt that consumers and manufacturers are becoming more environmentally conscious about packaging. An overview is provided of recent trends in packaging from the points of view of the consumer, the legislators, and the manufacturers. The opportunities open to the marketer are highlighted as this new consumer group emerges and discusses the need for the companies involved to address the whole issue of their own ethical standards within the company.
