Housing Associations Stock Issues
Abstract
Considers the legal status of the typical housing association. Discusses the role of The Housing Corporation in monitoring housing associations. Describes the funding requirements of housing associations and how those requirements are met by the private sector. Examines the issues arising where a housing association raises private finance by way of debenture stock issue. Concludes that although the issue of stock is still an unfamiliar concept for many housing associations, it is becoming better known and will become increasingly commonplace.
