Abstract

This article reviews the Model Requirements for the Management of Electronic Records (MoReq) developed for the European Commission’s Interchange of Data between Administrations (IDA) initiative. MoReq is of use in the design, selection and audit of systems for managing electronic records. It is a substantial piece of work that contributes to our profession’s efforts to find practical solutions to managing electronic records. If MoReq is to succeed, it must be given greater visibility and support from the European Commission to allow its authors to produce case studies and sustain the further development of the model requirements to keep up with technological trends.
