Abstract
Suggests that an initial lack of thorough planning, focus and strategy can develop into barriers for TQM implementation. Highlights the pitfalls of ignoring these procedures and suggests how they can be overcome by leadership and support from senior management, an adequate quality improvement process and an internal structure that recognises individual effort.
